Alopecia
Alopecia is an overly vague description because there are different forms of alopecia:
• Alopecia Areata: bald patches, usually an autoimmune reaction often caused by stress.
• Androgenetic alopecia: baldness caused by male hormones.
• Alopecia Universalis: complete baldness due to several possible causes: Diffusa, Androgentica, Telogen Effluvium.
• Alopecia cicatricialis: a bald spot on a scar. Since scars do not contain hair follicles, no hair can grow.
• Alopecia Diffusa: severe hair loss all over the scalp. Not in patches as in the case of Alopecia Areata. This may be due to illness including fever, vitamin A overdose or chemotherapy. Usually gets better on its own.
• Frontal fibrosing alopecia: inflammatory alopecia. Has a strong tendency to Alopecia cictricialis. Often gets better on its own. Manifests at the frontal hairline where inflammation develops, followed by scarring.
• Alopecia Traumatica: baldness caused by trauma. Trauma such as perming, colour stripping, dyeing, constant pulling (elastic bands). You can see a lot of broken hairs because the hairs are fragile and brittle. If the trauma stops, the hairs grow back. If the trauma persists, scars may appear where the hair no longer grows = then it becomes Alopecia Cicatricialis.
• Telogen Effluvium: disruption of the hair growth cycle. Hairs remain in the telogen phase of hair growth.
• Trichotillomania: the hair is compulsively pulled out. Often the case in children with mental health problems.
NANNIC focuses on the most common type of hair loss, namely Androgenetic Alopecia, which can affect both men and women. Men and women each have both hormones (oestrogens and androgens). The particular balance between the two determines the hair growth cycle. An imbalance in this relationship results in a imbalance in the hair growth cycle. NANNIC HSR optimises this balance. This supports the growth phase, but the resting phase is also still respected.
However, a positive effect can also be achieved in the case of Telogen Effluvium. It is definitely worth trying here. The same applies to Alopecia Diffusa, if the possible medical cause is found and you have recovered from the disease or medicine. NANNIC HSR can help support and encourage this process. This also applies to Alopecia Traumatica if the trauma has stopped and scar tissue has not yet formed.
Basically, after just two packages, you will know whether it works or not. We cannot give a guarantee, as the cause is also unknown at the moment.
