My (new) device does not get as warm as in training/previously.

Often the cause here is the power supply.
Check that the appliance is connected to a single socket without a power strip.
If necessary, try plugging into a different socket with the device because sometimes it concerns a problem of power supply to a particular socket.
In that case, you will have to consult an electrician.
